You know how it is… You’re out with friends, talking and laughing. And you realize the drinks seem to be sliding down easily. A little too easily. When you realize you’re sportin’ a buzz, ergo not fit to drive. You think about your options. You could call your honey and ask him or her to pick you up and drive you home. But this isn’t the greatest idea if you’ve got sleeping kids at home. You could also take a taxi. But what if there aren’t too many in your area? And in either of these cases, you’re still left without your vehicle the next morning.
In that case you do what a few of my girlfriends have done. You call the Scooter guy.
When I first heard of this service, I had to laugh. But really? These people are on to something. I got the scoop from a friend Jess. She and her husband Matt have used these guys several times.
Basically you the comapny a call (314-255-1800). A driver will come out to where ever you are. They drive your drunk butt home. They stow their scooter in the truck of your vehicle so you get your vehicle back and they’ve got transportation too.
This is a great set-up if you happen to have some super fun neighbors and you were the one who drove in the first place. You all still get a ride home and your neighbors can wander off to their respective homes too. (Plus, now you have someone to split the bill with!)
The cost is about $50 a ride. But honestly? That’s a far better cost than if you were to take the chance and get pulled over for a DUI, now isn’t it? You can even make reservations. There are even memberships available.
