The StL Cinema Scene is Up In The Air!
Have you seen the poster for Up in the Air? Do you notice that background in this poster looks a bit familiar? That’s because part of the movie was shot at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Apparently St. Louis viewers will recognize more than just the airport. Eighty percent of the film was shot in our fair city!
The film is loosely based on a novel of the same name by Walter Kirn and tells the story of frequent flyer Ryan Bingham (George Clooney), who happens to be an inspirational speaker and career counselor. Troubled companies who don’t have the guts to fire their employees hire Bingham to do their firing for them. Bingham travel schedule is hectic and heavy. And over the years, he launches a quest to rack up 10 million frequent flier miles. In this pursuit, he meets a love interest and learns a few life lessons along the way. The film also stars Anna Kendrick and Vera Farmiga
According to the movie’s IMBD page the film will show at the St. Louis film festival on November 14 but released to everyone by December 25.
Over the years, St. Louis has been a back drop for a number of movies. Want to know which ones? Check out the sidebar.

My neighbor got to be an extra in Up In the Air – she was SO excited to be so close to Clooney!
Yeah! My movie, er, I mean Clooney’s movie will be out soon. Fun stuff…
