The earthquake in Haiti has left thousands dead and survivors homeless.  (For a number of news stories about the event click here.) The people of Haiti need our help. What can we do?

The Red Cross has also activated a partnership with Mobile Accord where cell phone users can donate ten dollars to relief in Haiti by texting the word “Haiti” to 90999 or donate $5 to Salvation Army: text HAITI to 45678 .

Unfortunately food is a huge issue there. Or lack there of.  Food For The Poor, The Feed Foundation (World Food Programme emergency aid) and FEED Projects (bags for school food program) are helping on that front.

Other organizations taking donations for Haiti are the American Red Cross, Partners in Health and Catholic Relief Services, Doctors Without Borders, World Vision.

Or you can shop and contribute to the cause at the same time!
