Local Kids Need Your Help!

Posted by admin on March 18, 2010

monkey-barsSt. Louis Language Immersion School (SLLIS) is St. Louis’ first school that teaches kids fully in French or Spanish – depending on their program.  Although the program gets rave reviews by parents and students, the school has no playground equipment. (Not even swings or a good old-fashioned merry-go-round.)

“The kids run on black tops,” said Raquita Henderson, a parent of a student who attends the school. “They would love to be able to really play during the school day.”

The school, which has about 300 students, has been entered into a contest to win a grant for playground equipment. Please visit the site and vote for SLLIS. You can vote once a day. The contest runs to the end of the month!
